Q7: Fallacy

Think of a ridiculous argument that you can remember experiencing.  Which fallacy was used?  (Check Heinrichs 139-154).

  2. Begging the Question fallacy is a very annoying one to argue against especially when talking about beliefs.
The other day, my friend and I began talking about social rights, and one of the topics was whether or not homosexual marriage should be allowed, and whether or not it is morally okay.
My friend argued that it is not okay because it mentions it in the Bible. Just because it says it in the Bible means that it is true? I was a bit confused. I asked this question: "If the Bible never mentioned how Homosexual Marriage is wrong, would it be morally okay?"
His response was: "No. It is wrong!"
    I said "Why??"
He said "Because it is in the Bible!"
This conversation kept on for a while and we made NO progress...
    Fallacies can be irritating!
